If someone asked you what your destiny was would you have a clue? How would you reply?
It's a good question because most of us go through life not even thinking about it, not to mention contemplating an answer! Perhaps many people believe that there is no such thing as destiny and we make up our own destiny. Is it not possible that the very things we do and say were written down in an ancient text long before we even took our first breathe? I believe it to be so. That we were all born with a destiny and purpose that far exceeds the meaningless day to day issues we deal with on a regular basis.
In the last couple of weeks I've been forced to look deep within and consider questions that are not found in my daily routine. Questions like, "what are your personal goals" or "what is the purpose of your ministry / business"? I'm taking a wonderful webinar on business planning and it is meant to focus on my work but I can not possibly separate that which I do from that which I am. I am looking deep within for answers to these deep questions. I suggest you try it also and let me know what you think! Imagine if every person recognized their own destiny and lived according to their true calling in life! How awesome!

I have discovered that only when I am being what I was made to be and doing what I was called to do, that I am truly happy. There is otherwise a constant struggle inside me to conform to what others want me to be. Saturday afternoon I put on a fundraiser for Brigadoon Youth & Service Dog Programs in an effort to raise funds for the cost of Tate, my successor service dog. I made fliers, posted them, invited my friends from far away to play music, secured auction items, had Denise Costanten do a presentation on the program and performed a dance in full costume and makeup. In the end, only 3 people, besides my husband, attended. If I would continue to only look at the numbers in attendance I would miss some great lessons. Sure, I can be depressed that it was a low turnout but what is that going to do now? I can look at the money and energy put into it and say they were wasted resources but is that truly accurate? I learned a lot from putting together this event. I learned what I should and shouldn't do and what works and what needs improvement. I would say the biggest thing that I learned wasn't actually a lesson so much as it was a feeling. When I was in the church rehearsing, the day before, there was nobody else there except me, and it was really special. I loved the way I felt when it was all quiet and I was just doing what I love the most! Then when there was an audience in front of me and a microphone in my hand; well, let's just say I was in the center of my element and the purpose I was put here on Earth! When you have that feeling, don't pass it by. Go with it! Fly & soar!
